How to Detox and Cleanse During Everyday Life {easy and effective}

According to MindBodyGreen {and I love this definition!}, detoxing or cleansing is:

“cleansing the liver with supportive whole foods and herbs and reducing inflammation in the digestive tract and body.”

Spot on.

How healthy and delish does that sound?

But on normal days too, just everyday life, there’s still some basic detoxifying steps you can take {that really do make a difference!} —

  1. Drink lots of water, including lemon water — stay flushed and hydrated, adding lemon = alkalizing and fiber.
  2. Eat veggies, high-fiber food from nature — duh, the most important thing you can do to be healthy.
  3. Avoid chemical processed food and sugar — actually maybe this is the most important thing you can do, for sure.
  4. Keep animal food {meat and dairy} to a minimum — think of it as a condiment, and make sure organic/grass-fed/high-quality.
  5. Sauerkraut at the end of the day — fermented foods have live cultures which are great for gut health, also super wet and good roughage. Bubbie’s is the best.
  6. Alcohol with water and lots of lemon/lime — if you’re going to have alcohol, try to neutralize it as much as able by staying hydrated with water and add some real nutritional value with citrus.
  7. Cold water plunge in the shower — by feeling cold water on your extremities or body, even momentarily, your blood rushes to your stomach around your organs — then creating a flush of circulation when it spreads back out.
  8. Blue-green algae — so powerful and potent, great for cell regeneration — chlorella is my favorite. Easy win!
  9. Epsom salt bath — cleanse through the largest organ, your skin — remove toxins and relax. mmm.
  10. Exercise and sweat! — get moving! You know this. Find something you actually enjoy doing and do it often!
  11. Aloe waterGeorge’s is my favorite brand because it doesn’t taste like anything — drink a sip before meals or mix with water and drink some aloe-water before bed — for hydration and good digestion.

Pick a few of these and get them into your life, every day. Do it!
